"Spring calls for a fresh start and the stripping of the layers that brought us warmth and coziness in winter in favor of a lighter, more simple, style."
In the colder months, we find comfort in decorating our homes to the brim, it creates a cozy and warm atmosphere.

But once the snow melts and the air begins to feel warmer, we often look to refresh our spaces and declutter. This is why spring is naturally a great time to decorate in a lighter, more minimal style.

Here are my tips for minimalist decorating for spring:
Keep it simple and keep it light!
Just a vase on a table with a pretty branch or a few floral sprigs is enough. Do not go overboard with adding too many florals, less is more. Go for a clear glass or light color vase to keep the color pallet feeling airy. This works for any table: coffee tables, end tables, dining tables, entry consoles, even your kitchen island.

For fireplace mantles, pair a couple larger items with a few candle sticks. Keep artwork light (bright or muted colors are all lovely for spring). A mirror or light color textile works wonderfully as an anchor (mirrors especially due to the light they reflect).

Make sure the pieces you pick aren’t too small
Scale is important with minimal design, since we aren’t using multiple pieces to fill the space, we need to make sure the décor we use is substantial.

Choose lighter textiles
Trade out heavy textiles for lighter ones. Opt for linens, cottons, and woven fabrics over heavier fabrics like fleece and sherpa (velvet and wool may still fit with the spring vibe if used sparingly and paired with other lighter fabrics). And of course, choose colors and patterns that speak to spring.

A few simple, well-scaled, pieces and light textiles are the perfect way to create a minimalist look in every room of your house for spring.
